Cleaning house

Meghan and I (mostly Meghan because she INSISTS SHE wants to be the one who "super" cleaned the house) are spring cleaning, getting the house ready for me not being able to clean for 6 weeks. We are also moving my bed into the living room, since I will be "living" in the living room for my recovery (especially the first few weeks!)

I got a steam cleaner, so we are steam cleaning all the floors and couches!! It is awesome.

I worked on scrubbing the shower!

We are moving the love seat and coffee table into the dining room so that we have room for my bed. It is awesome! lol...

I am just SO thankful I do not have to climb up or down any stairs.

Stairs from now on will be a big problem. Eventually it will get better, but they will be very challenging for a long day....

It is sad, because my best friend's house has stairs.... :(

Meghan is being absolutely awesome...I am very blessed to have such a great kid as my daughter!

I am also trying to get my grades done.

There is so much to do and so little time....just a little under 2 weeks now.

Well I am off to finish steam cleaning the love seat.... :)

12 more days.....wow....

Dr Visit

I went to the Dr today...good news...everything looks good.

Well at least that is what it felt like. I keep thinking the rug is going to be pulled out from under me and someone is going to tell me I can not have my surgery... :(

But the Dr said everything looks great.

I had an EKG done and my heart looks healthy and normal.

They took my blood..these results are going to be sent to my surgeon...they should be fine, I had the same blood work done a few months ago and it was all normal.

I had a UA done (urine analysis)...everything looked okay, except I have some white blood cells, so they are going to culture it. My personal MA (my best friend) said it was nothing to worry about.

Another hoop down...more to come.

I am rushing to get my grades done...only 15 days till surgery and so much to do.... :)

...to be continued

A day in the life of me :)

Today was a relatively good day. Just the normal chronic knee pain...

My daughter just started her online health class.....OMG she had to take this stupid quiz that she could only pass if she got a 100 on. She took the quiz like 20+ times alone and was only at 15/16...and then she was about to throw the computer across the room so I sat with her and we did process of elimination and FINALLY FINALLY with 15 minutes left to spare FINALLY got 100%.... :)

On the knee side of things....

I went to the store to purchase more supplies for the D-day.....

My best friend is a Medical Assistant and she is going to help take care of me after the surgery. She commented on how she wished we could have a blood pressure cuff so she can monitor me for the first 2 weeks after surgery. So I got one at the store today :)

I also got some entertainment for after the surgery as well as things to help me be more comfortable. I digital Yahtzee, PAC-man, and 2 furry body pillow cases :)

My Meghan just suggested that I start a post called: Kounting the Killer Kosts - so since she is awesome I will :) Plus it will be a good way to track the costs of this endeavor
